FAQ
What is KOTAMON?
KOTAMON (full Steam title: 'KOTAMON: My Sis Found A Super-Rare Card In Her Cereal Box, So I Became A Garbage Man To Find The Entire Collection And Earn $1,000,000') is a cozy single-player collecting sim by KotaMota Games, released on Steam on August 20, 2026. You dig through trash piles at a dump, recycle garbage for cash, and hunt for collectible Kotamon trading cards, figurines, audiotapes and cosplay outfits.
Is KOTAMON the same as Kotemon from Digimon?
No. Kotemon (with an 'e') is a Digimon character that appears in Digimon Story: Time Stranger and other Digimon media. KOTAMON (with an 'a') is an unrelated indie Steam game about collecting cat trading cards at a garbage dump. If you searched 'kotemon cards' looking for this game, you are in the right place — but Digimon evolution guides are a different franchise.
Is KOTAMON NSFW?
The game itself contains no sexual scenes. Steam's official content note says some trading-card illustrations depict characters in revealing or tight clothing and suggestive poses, but without nudity, and that all characters are adults. You can also voluntarily drink beer in-game. There is no official NSFW version or patch — sites advertising one are unofficial and not endorsed by the developer.
About This Site
Kotamon Wiki is an independent, unofficial fan resource for KOTAMON players — not affiliated with KotaMota Games.
- How we verify: Every card name, price and mechanic on this site is checked against the official Steam listing, the developer patch notes, and at least one independent community source before it is published.
- Update cadence: When KotaMota Games ships a patch, the affected pages (upgrades, cereal boxes, fixes) are re-verified within 48 hours and the update log is posted on the Updates page.
- What we don't do: We do not publish per-card stat tables we cannot verify ourselves, invented drop rates, piracy links, or NSFW mod content — if a number has no source, it stays off the page.
