KOTAMON Walkthrough: Full Collection Route

How this route is organized

KOTAMON has no quest chain to follow — progression is economic. The efficient order is about unlock dependencies: the foil endgame sits behind maxed stats, which sit behind money, which sits behind a clean loop. Six stages, in order:

Stage 1 — stabilize the loop

Learn the rhythm on the starter heaps: grab, bag, compact, sell. Take the free audiotape by the boombox and switch the radio on (that’s an achievement). Keep every card you find, damaged or not. Money milestones come on their own — the $1,000/$10,000/$50,000/$100,000 achievements check your balance, so don’t splurge right before a threshold.

Stage 2 — the landmark sweep

Do one deliberate lap for the six fixed figurine landmarks: under the car hood, behind the recycler, the garage side, behind the fence piles, the roof (climb via trash piles to the railing), and behind the house opposite the recycling center. One lap, six collectibles — the other six come from normal digging.

Stage 3 — repair everything before trading

Fragments and whole maps became more common in the Aug 21 patch. Rebuild every damaged card at the glue table (five pieces each) before you trade or sell anything — repaired cards count for the binder, and condition drives price.

Stage 4 — upgrades with intent

Work through all seven stats: Bag/Energy first, Speed next, Magnet and Range as comfort buys. You want two things from this stage: the run efficiency itself, and the endgame unlock — maxing every stat opens Jenny’s $10,000 cereal box.

Stage 5 — complete the four sets

Fill the Blue, White, Red and Purple sets (10 cards each; each completed set is an achievement). Trash piles and repairs carry you most of the way; trades cover stubborn gaps. The special card Kotalion — “Get ‘em All!” — is the collection’s crown.

Stage 6 — the foil endgame

Foils are their own collection (foil guide): open every free cereal box you dig up, then convert spare cash into $10,000 shop boxes. The two foil achievements (A True Fan, The Collector) are the longest grind in the game — alongside the 1,000-beer and 999-bag counters, which should both be well along by now if you’ve been drinking your energy and compacting as you go.

Endgame checklist

  • All four color sets complete + Kotalion
  • 12 figurines, 7 tapes, 3 cosplay outfits
  • Every stat maxed (“Champion” + “Power Overwhelming”)
  • Foil set (“A True Fan”) → all foils (“The Collector”)
  • The secret loft, for the laugh
  • $1,000,000 — the title’s promise

Stuck on a bug instead of a grind? The fixes page covers saves, counters and settings.
