KOTAMON Fixes — Saves, Achievements & Settings
Save not working / progress lost
- Officially fixed (Aug 21): crashes connected to saving and loading; the interface should no longer crash on save/load.
- Autosave got stronger: it now fires when you open a new trash heap, not just on exit — a crash costs a slice of progress, not the run.
- Demo migration is not a bug: cards carried over; money and upgrades reset by design.
- If progress still goes missing (some players report vanished upgrades post-patch): stop using the affected slot, keep the last good save untouched, make a separate manual save for testing, and verify game files. Do not edit save data hoping to restore progress.
Achievements not unlocking
- Several were repaired in the Aug 21 patch — update before troubleshooting.
- The "find ten Nyanchi Crunchi boxes" achievement was rebalanced on Aug 22 (box drop rate up).
- Audiotape hunters: the reported 6/7 counter mismatch has its own section on the audiotapes page.
Disappearing garbage bags
Bags vanishing from your hands near the trash crusher were fixed on Aug 22 — in the developers' words, fixed "EVEN MORE THOROUGHLY, and now it's 100% guaranteed (though not certain)". If you still see it on the current build, report it in the official Discord.
Camera & settings
- Mouse smoothing: can be disabled in settings since Aug 22.
- FOV: adjustable in the same menu.

Fixes FAQ
My save reset after moving from the demo — is that a bug?
Partly by design: in the demo-to-release migration, card collections were preserved while money and upgrades were intentionally reset (the Aug 21 notes explain in-game changes forced it). A mid-release wipe is a different problem — see the save section above.
An achievement will not unlock. What do I do?
Update the game first — several achievements were repaired on Aug 21, and the ten-cereal-box achievement became realistic on Aug 22. Then retest with a separate save. Counted achievements use the internal counter, not what your shelf displays.
The camera feels floaty / mouse feels laggy.
That was mouse smoothing. Since the Aug 22 patch you can turn it off in settings, and adjust FOV while you are there.
