KOTAMON Foil Cards — How to Get Every Foil
What's officially confirmed
- Foils exist as their own collection layer, on top of the 40-card base binder.
- Cereal boxes are the one source named by the store page.
- Steam's achievement list has two foil goals: A True Fan ("Collect a full set of foil cards") and The Collector ("Collect all foil cards").
What's not confirmed
- No published foil drop rate — any percentage you see is guesswork.
- No official full foil list, and no proof every base card has a foil twin.
- No evidence that repairs or trades can produce a foil.
Practical foil route
- Open every cereal box you find in the trash — free rolls (see where boxes spawn).
- Push your upgrades to max to unlock Jenny's $10,000 shop box — the only repeatable source.
- Bank cash between buys; money milestones feed four achievements anyway.
- Log each foil you pull — the counter achievements are your ground truth.
Foil FAQ
Does every card have a foil version?
That is a common community claim, but no official source confirms it. What Steam does confirm: foils are a distinct collection with two dedicated achievements, and cereal boxes can contain them.
Is foil the same as rarity?
No. A card has three separate properties: printed rarity (R/SR/SSR), physical quality (condition stars on pickup), and foil status. An SSR is not automatically a foil, and repairing a damaged card does not make it one.
What is the fastest foil farm?
Max your stats, then buy cereal boxes from Jenny at $10,000 each — the only repeatable, confirmed foil source. Keep searching fresh trash piles for free boxes along the way.
